Gerard Shortall

Gerard is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) providing independent investment advice to clients from all backgrounds throughout the Hawke's Bay. He has over 20 years’ experience working for a large national investment advisory company where he was proud to have been a multiple winner of their ‘Adviser of the Year’ award, presented by management to the adviser who best combined good interpersonal skills and outstanding client care, high quality advice and results.

Gerard's focus is on building long term relationships to help clients plan their finances, so they can get the best out of life.


Gerard does not accept any payments or incentives from product providers or fund managers. Gerard is authorised by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) to practice as an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA). Under the Financial Advisers Act (2008), only AFA’s are qualified to give comprehensive financial advice to ensure that a high level of competency is maintained within the industry. 

He is a graduate of Auckland University and a member of the Estate and Taxation Planning Council of New Zealand.
